Room 402 lives at the NYC iSchool, a public high school in Manhattan. The iSchool takes an innovative approach to reimagining the traditional high school experience by developing digital and non-digital out-of-classroom experiences, providing students and faculty with choice around course offerings, and facilitating independent learning opportunities, among others. Christina Jenkins is a teacher and designer whose interests are in design, learning spaces, illustrated fiction, and animation. Before coming to the iSchool, she taught 7th grade social studies at IS 339 and worked in New York City public schools to develop strategies for improving teaching and learning with technology. She earned her MFA in Design + Technology at Parsons The New School for Design, where her thesis was concerned with the habits of practice that surround the use of digital technology in the K-12 classroom. Since 2010, she has discussed her work in Room 402 at conferences across the country, including Digital Media and Learning 2012, MobilityShifts, and Educon.
